About the Role

Working with a team of Psychologists to promote the welfare and well-being of students at all levels in the Junior School, and provide effective counselling support for students experiencing personal, emotional, behavioural and/or social difficulties.


Pivotal to your role will be the ability to relate to all members of the School community to enable you to provide advice and recommendations on case matters as well as mediate between various members of the community.


Succeeding in this environment will require a solid understanding of the principles and practices of positive psychology in an educational setting and an ability to work with children, adolescents and adults.


As the successful applicant you will:

  • Be registered with the Psychology Board of Australia – Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
  • Possess professional counselling experience in an educational setting.
  • Have awareness of the ethical and legal issues regarding the role of a professional counsellor including: confidentiality; informed consent; appropriate disclosures; referral pathways; case note documentation and security.
  • Be able to effectively engage and counsel students and other members of the School community.
