About St Peter’s College

 

Founded in 1847, St Peter’s College is an Anglican boys’ school located adjacent to the CBD of Adelaide.  With students from Early Learning Centre to Year 12, the School caters for a wide range of student backgrounds and abilities.  The School has an excellent reputation for both academic and sporting achievement.

About the Role

 

Applications are sought for a full-time (1.0 FTE) contract teaching position for Term 3, 2019.

 

Applicants should be suitably qualified and experienced in Early Childhood teaching and to teach in the Early Years Program. This role involves teaching in the Early Learning Centre, necessitating knowledge of both the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards.

Understanding of the Reggio Emilia philosophy would be an advantage.

 

About you

 

You will be required to meet the following selection criteria:

  • Be an outstanding teacher with Early Childhood Teaching qualifications.
  • Have an extensive understanding of early childhood education and care.
  • Have an understanding about the education of boys.
  • Understand the essential elements of the Reggio Emilio philosophy and the influence of these on practice.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of the central role well-being plays in enabling all boys to flourish.
  • Be able to integrate ICT technologies across all areas of teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication, representation and interpersonal skills.
  • Be eligible to work in Australia and hold current registration with the South Australian Teachers' Registration Board. 
  • Evidence to be provided of completed training in Responding to Abuse and Neglect and Provide First Aid Certificate.
  • Possess and demonstrate a commitment to the principles and practices of WH&S, Equal Opportunity and Risk Management.

Conditions of Employment

  • A competitive salary will be negotiated according to qualifications and experience.  The School has its own Enterprise Agreement (based upon the Teachers' [Non-Government Schools] Award).
  • The successful applicant will be expected to contribute, where appropriate, to the co-curricular life of the School.
  • The successful applicant will be expected to satisfy child protection screening, and adhere to the School's Student Protection Policy.
