Carpenter

About the position
The role of the Carpenter is to apply expert carpentry skills to maintain a high level of presentation and cleanliness of all grounds and buildings across the School. The Carpenter is expected to work in conjunction with Maintenance Tradespeople to maintain a clean, tidy and safe school environment for all members of the St Peter’s College community.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out general repairs and maintenance as required.
  • Operating and maintaining workshop machinery in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Maintaining accurate records to comply with all relevant standards and requirements.
  • Reading plans and installing furniture, fittings, hardware and equipment.
  • Supporting fellow members of the Grounds and Maintenance team to enable the department to reach its objectives.


As the successful applicant you will

  • Hold Carpentry/Cabinet Making/Joinery Trade qualifications with demonstrated minimum 5 years’ (beyond apprenticeship) experience on site and in a workshop.
  • Have demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Hold a current driver’s licence.
  • Hold a valid Working with Children Check (Department of Human Services).
  • Be committed to the ethos of an independent Anglican school.
